These days, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who hasn't heard of adidas in America. It's a household name, known for being one of the biggest sporting brands in the US. Now, adidas has entered the world of pickleball, and I'm excited to see where they'll go from here.

adidas' pickleball story so far

With years of experience in other racquet sports, adidas turned its attention to the world of pickleball back in 2021. After launching a range of paddles, it quickly began sponsoring some of the biggest names in the sport.

Since they already had a strong reputation, they quickly signed some big names, including pros like Rafa Hewett, Mari Humberg, and even world #1 Federico Staksrud.

Overhauling its paddle lineup

This April 2025, adidas is coming out with a whole new range of paddles—their second ever release. They've set an ambitious goal too—they want adidas pickleball paddles to be the next generation in pickleball gear. They're promising all-new materials and technologies to keep these at the cutting edge of the sport.

adidas partnered with AFP Group and All Racquet Sports for this project (responsible for manufacturing and distributing all adidas paddles). AFP has 14 years of experience in the racquet sports industry, having already delivered some of the best-performing racquets in padel. They're now aiming to do the same for pickleball.

I haven't personally played with any of their paddles before, so only time will tell if this is genuine or just marketing. Either way, I'm excited to get them on the court and see how they compare to the best pickleball paddles around.

There's plenty of tough competition on the market, but adidas is coming into this with plenty of experience, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they come out with.

Is adidas committed to pickleball for the future?

It's a fair question, and one we've posed to adidas themselves to answer. In response to this, Bryan Ogle (CCO at adidas) told us:

"adidas isn't stopping with paddles. As pickleball continues to grow, adidas' global presence will only expand within the sport. The brand is already increasing its involvement, and this is just the beginning of what will be a long-term investment in pickleball's future."

Given the brand's long-standing reputation in other racquet sports, and the rapid growth of pickleball in the US, it looks like adidas is here to stay.

Bottom line

We've seen some pretty interesting things from adidas so far, so I'm eager to see what this big hitter is going to come out with next. I'm hoping that, with a big name like adidas joining the space, we're one step closer to seeing pickleball grow worldwide.

Plus, with AFP Group and All Racquet Sports at the helm, adidas is in a strong position to bring something unique to the table. Done well, these new releases might be some of the best advanced paddles in the game.

This could push pickleball to new heights. In the meantime, I can't wait to get my hands on their latest gear to test it for myself. Watch this space—I'll be reviewing and comparing the latest and greatest in pickleball.
