Many of you are volunteers, devoting countless hours to organizing pickleball in your community.

That's why we built Plus-power: a way to keep our organizer tools free for you, with players chipping in to cover the cost instead.

When you require Pickleheads Plus on a session (what we call Plus-powering it), your players each pay $1/month to join, and you get the full organizer toolkit free.

Unlimited round robins, leagues & ladders, tournaments, plus the automation tools that make running events easier: recurring sessions, session duplication, and waitlist management.

These automation tools used to require Pro. Not anymore.

No thresholds. No counters. You Plus-power your sessions, and everything is free.

How to Plus-power your sessions & groups

You can Plus-power any session or group in seconds.

Sessions

To enable: Create or edit a round robin session → Advanced Settings → toggle Plus-power this session on.

The Plus banner appears automatically on the session page for players so they will be automatically prompted to subscribe to Plus to join your session.

One toggle on your session. That's it. Your players subscribe to Pickleheads Plus for $1/month, and you get access to everything.

Groups

If you have a regular group of players, it might make sense to create a Pickleheads Group and require Plus to join it as a way of getting everyone on board early.

This way, everyone subscribes to Plus up-front, rather than waiting until the next Plus-powered session.

To do this, create or edit your group and toggle on Require Pickleheads Plus.

When players hit a Plus-powered session or group page, they see the Plus requirement first. Anyone without Plus is prompted to upgrade before they can RSVP. Once they do, they continue the normal signup.

💡 Good to know: Plus-power is session-by-session, not account-level. You can run some sessions Plus-powered and others completely free. Pick what works for each event.

Communicating the change to players

Good communication goes a long way. Pick one approach, stay consistent, and make sure players hear the same message everywhere.

The angle that works best: you're asking players to subscribe to Plus as a way to chip in to cover the cost of the tool that makes the sessions run smoothly. Plus subscribers get their own perks too: player stats, game discovery, unlimited 4-player round robins. It's a win-win.

You can add a short note to your session description and announce it in your group chat or at the courts. Here’s an example you can steal:

“Hey everyone! Our Friday round robins now require a Pickleheads Plus subscription ($1/mo) to join. You’ll see the update on our next session. When everyone's on Plus, I get access to all of the round robin tools that keep our sessions running — without covering it with a $15/mo subscription myself. You get your own perks too: player stats, game discovery, unlimited 4-player round robins, and more. If you enjoy these sessions, this is the easiest way to chip in!”
